Fibercom  by a group of researchers from the University of Zaragoza, convinced that optical fibre was the most suitable medium for the development of modern communications. Their main aim was to offer the knowledge available in the university about the use of optical fibre as a means of transmission. To fulfil this approach, Fibercom focused its main activity in the design and solution making for the infrastructures that the new telecommunication networks demanded. These services encompass needs analysis and a proposal of solutions (Engineering), as well as measurement and certification of the installed network (Auditing), and fulfilment of the work (Installation).

Three years later and due to the success of the activity, there was a readjustment in the company and the original founders delegated the management of the company to a team dedicated only to this. From this moment on, Fibercom expanded its activities to the production and distribution of accessories for the fibre optic infrastructure...

In 1996 Fibercom established its commercial headquarters in Barcelona. At present, the activity of Fibercom is complemented in the R&D Department. It has caused the recent expansion of its facilities in Zaragoza as well as in Barcelona, reaching 1000 m².

Fibercom is the result of the combination of three different factors: the right people, the right moment, and the right place.

Fibercom, with the desire of providing their customers with a full service in optical fibre, has reached collaboration agreements with the most prestigious companies in the market to incorporate into its portfolio a wide range of products, equipment, instruments and tools and accessories. We also have our own factory, equipped with the latest technology in machinery setting up and quality control. We have a big production capacity, making standards cables as well as customize ones; and we have a great flexibility in our products and delivery deadlines. The result of these activities is the manufacture of all kinds of products related to the fibre optic installations. We provide pig-tails and patchcords for all needs and we combine any sort of fibres and cables (singlemode, multimode, simplex, duplex etc?) with the precise connector for each case (ST, SC, FC, LC, MTR?). We also supply any other product or accessory related to fibre optics: cable, connectors, splicing and termination boards, couplers, external closures, attenuators, installation tools and kits, splicers, OTDR, light sources, optical power meters, consumables?
